PLOT

Pia and Jan get to know each other in the park while walking their dogs. Pia is a photographer, Jan has a bicycle shop. The two become lovers. At a regular game night, Jan gets to know Pia's circle of friends. Pia's best friend is Karo, a designer by training, who runs a furniture mail order business and is married to the vocational school teacher Oliver. Sheila is a pharmacist, she has known Pia as well as Karo since kindergarten; she stalks her ex-girlfriend, while Sheila claims it's just a long relationship break. Long-term student Kurt is the brother of Karo.

The game night takes place in the villa of Karo and Oliver. Karo wants Pia to join her company as a designer, not least because she doesn't think Pia and Jan's business is lucrative. At the game night, Jan wants to make a good impression. As a gift, he brings Karo an airbag for cycling, but it immediately comes off and destroys Karo's hairstyle. To talk to his friend Alex on the phone, Jan looks for a quiet room, where he opens the window. Oliver's cockatoo, whom he calls Helmut Kohl, escapes. Jan asks Alex to recapture the escaped bird. In the process, Alex destroys Oliver's climbing frame in the garden. Oliver and Karo have an au pair in Gabriela, who takes care of her daughter Emma and prepares the food.

In the course of the evening, Pia's ex-boyfriend, the dentist Matthias, also appears. He tries to show Jan off repeatedly, and in passing he tells him about his marriage proposal to Pia. Jan didn't know anything about Matthias and his proposal, it had no meaning for Pia and she hadn't accepted it.

Jan has brought the game Who Would for the evening, in which questions are drawn from a pile and everyone has to write down the name of a person from the group. Oliver freaks out because he finds himself portrayed as a loser by the others. As a result, he disguises himself as the all-powerful elf king Ogandur. Karo thinks that he embarrasses her and himself in front of his friends. An argument ensues between the two, in which it turns out that the two do not have sex with each other and Karo has to take medication to function. Karo accuses Oliver of having an affair with Gabriela.

After Jan called Matthias a loudmouth, Matthias challenges Jan to a duel in table tennis. At Karo's suggestion, this takes place naked. The loser has to drink a bottle of chili sauce. Matthias states that he cannot tolerate spiciness. He is confident of victory, but loses the duel. After drinking the chili sauce, Jan hands Matthias a bottle of milk, but it is breast milk.

Finally, it comes to an argument between Jan and Pia. She feels like a trophy in the duel between Jan and Matthias. Jan, on the other hand, accuses her of not fitting into her world of the rich and intelligent. He also finds out that Matthias and Pia kissed, but according to Pia, before Jan and Pia were really together. Jan leaves the villa with Alex, but Alex has lost his key, so the two have to return. In the process, the two end up in a net trap set up for wild boars in the garden of neighbor Fieper.

Pia accuses Oliver of inviting Matthias and of only drawing those cards in Trivial Pursuit that Matthias was prepared for. Oliver wanted to help Matthias get together with Pia again. Matthias himself is drunk in his car in the direction of the Berlin Zoo, Oliver, Karo, Pia and Sheila follow him later.

Fieper frees Jan and Alex from the trap and gives them the cockatoo, which he has stunned with a shot. Jan brings Helmut Kohl back to the house, but in the meantime only Kurt is present. Jan, Alex and Kurt also go to the zoo. In the enclosure of a tiger they find Matthias' cell phone, Jan climbs in because Matthias is also suspected to be there. However, he later reappears outside the enclosure. Pia and Jan reconcile, as do Karo and Oliver. Oliver reveals to Karo that he had secretly taken dance lessons from Gabriela for the wedding anniversary. The next game night takes place in Jan's apartment and without Matthias.

PREMISE

Ten years ago in "The Great Crumble", society collapsed due to a viral pandemic of a disease known as the Sick (or the H5G9 virus), wiping out most of the world's human population. At the same time, many babies start to be born as mute hybrids with animal body parts and other characteristics.

Unsure whether hybrids are the cause of the virus or a result of it, many humans fear and hunt them. Gus, a part-deer hybrid, lives in the wilderness with his father whom he calls "Pubba". Pubba dies when Gus is nine years old and Gus discovers a box his father buried beneath a tree that contains what Gus believes is a photograph of his mother, with the word "Colorado" written on it.

Gus accidentally starts a fire, which brings hunters who try to kill him, but he is saved by Tommy Jepperd, a lone traveller also drawn by the fire. Jepperd tries to leave Gus, but the boy insists that he escort him to Colorado to find his mother, and he relents.

The story also follows Dr. Aditya Singh as he tries to find a cure for the Sick, which his wife has lived with for years; and Bear, who is the leader and founder of the Animal Army which saves and protects hybrids. Bear is looking for her sister Wendy, a part-pig hybrid rescued by Aimee Eden, a former therapist whose sanctuary for hybrids is called "The Preserve".

Under Paris, 2024

In the movie, an army of mutated mako sharks essentially takes over the world. Lilith, the shark, has a personal connection to marine scientist Sophia. Sophia’s husband was killed by Lilith during an attempt to preserve sea life in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. Lilith, showing signs of gargantuan growth, migrates to the freshwater Seine three years later, adapting to survive there due to climate change and pollution. She can now reproduce via parthenogenesis, leading to an exponential increase in giant, mutant makos.

TRAILER

PLOT

Sophia faces two obstacles: the Parisian government, which refuses to take the shark threat seriously, and the youth-driven activist group Save Our Seas Mika, from the activist group, broadcasts Lilith’s plight on social media, leading to her own death and the realization that Lilith has offspring. Sophia teams up with France’s most handsome police diver, Adil, to bomb Lilith’s nest. With the sharks breeding aggressively and adapting to unfavourable conditions, they threaten to take over the world’s oceans if not stopped.

Twelve people died previously in the beginning of the movie and later many people died in the triathlon marathon. For me it was a case of sacrifice. The Co-Pilot lied about the number of deaths, saying that was only 12 people that died.

How the Sharks Attack:

First they look you in the eyes, they take a walk around you and after that they attack. If you are hostile they respond after, destroying you. The girl Adi in the movie succeeded to touch in the face the Shark and the shark remained quiet, but Mika started to scream telling her that the Shark would attack her because she had babies, they all started to scream and the Shark attacked the girl. I cannot say if it was the reason, the screamings, but i believe that was not good to scream.  In the first group the 12 that died pierced the Shark with a spear and his reaction was immediate.

TIME NEWS

The Chilling True Story Behind the Netflix Documentary Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult

The documentary series Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult, now streaming on Netflix, traces the formation of the management company 7M Films by founder, Robert Shinn, who is also a Shekinah church pastor. Over three episodes, Dancing for the Devil reveals claims from multiple former 7M members about how Shinn abused and manipulated them and created a cult-like environment.

The series largely focuses on the stories of two different pairs of sisters who worked with Shinn—the influencers Melanie Wilking and Miranda Derrick (formerly Wilking) and Melanie and Priscylla Lee. The Lee sisters came to know Shinn after joining his Shekinah church in 1999 as young Korean immigrants. They integrated themselves into the church community and began living in a house with other church members. Melanie Lee eventually escaped the home and left the church, trying to bring her sister with her, but Priscylla refused to leave—causing them to be separated for a decade.

Shinn founded 7M in 2021 and the lines between his church and the talent management company have always been blurry. Melanie Wilking and her parents first brought attention to the darker side of 7M in a 40-minute Instagram Live in 2022, in which they tried to reach out to Miranda, saying they had not being in touch with her for years. The family shares tearfully in Dancing for the Devil that Miranda joined a “religious organization” in late 2019 and was told to cut them out of her life.

Dancing for the Devil explores how Shinn used his influence as a pastor to form a TikTok dance management company. The series also shows how Wilking’s Instagram Live became the catalyst for multiple publications to investigate 7M, giving former members and their families a chance to share their stories.

How Robert Shinn went from Shekinah Church to 7M Films

Robert Shinn's LA-based Shekinah church started out small, Melanie Lee explains in the series. “There were maybe 15 people, and that included his family and his sister Catherine’s family,” she says. She adds that Robert and Catherine “promised” her and Priscylla all of the love the two of them “never really experienced.” Over the years, Shinn opened several businesses, including a café, two mortgage companies, two real estate companies, and two flower shops. Lee says in the documentary that employees of these businesses were made up of members of the Shekinah church. She says the employees were paid very little (she was paid $100 a week) and worked 12-hour shifts.

Shinn’s interests shifted following a failed attempt as a Hollywood executive producer—and he began the management company 7M Films and found the dancers, including Miranda, on social media. He saw them as a new revenue stream.

Through 7M, Shinn was able to get the dancers in his management company opportunities like commercials, bookings on The Ellen Show, and dancing at the Los Angeles Clippers games. He still led the Shekinah congregation, which included many of his clients, whom he bragged about during his sermons. Dancing for the Devil details how the influencers on his roster sought out Shinn's approval by proving they would do whatever it took to get his attention.

The series also details Shinn's controversial practices as a leader. Former members have accused him of sexual, emotional, and financial abuse. Shinn, 7M, and Shekinah Church did not participate in the documentary series. He has denied sexually abusing members of the company or the church.

Why 7M members had to cut off their families

One of Shinn’s most controversial practices was telling his followers that they needed to “die to” themselves and their families. One former 7M dancer explains the concept in the first episode: “Dying to yourself means that whatever you want or whatever you need, you have to ‘die to it,’ because whenever you die to something, it’ll come back to life and resurrect.”

Another former 7M dancer adds that they were taught to “die to your family in order to save them,” referring to the chance of them “getting into heaven one day.”

We see this “dying to your family” play out with the Wilking sisters. In the series, Melanie Wilking explains that she and her sister were inseparable until Miranda joined 7M, even going so far as to get married without telling her family.

Miranda is now in contact with her family after Shinn changed his tune in July 2022, following the departure of multiple 7M dancers from the company. He suggested that it would be better for 7M congregants to be in contact with their families.

After a year abroad in London, Emma returns home and stuns her mother Lana with the news that she's getting married in a month at a resort in Phuket, Thailand. Things get worse when Lana discovers that the husband-to-be RJ is the son of Will, the man who broke her heart years earlier.

TRAILER

PLOT

After a year working for Discovery Resorts in London, Emma Winslow's boyfriend RJ surprises her with a proposal. She happily accepts, but is concerned about her mother Lana's reaction as it's been just the two of them since her father died when she was only eight.

In San Francisco, Lana Winslow heads a medical research lab. Emma returns home and announces that, rather than go to grad school or find a job, she's going to run her own business. She'll be receiving a 6-figure-sponsorship in exchange for promoting Discovery.  Emma then stuns Lana with the news that she's getting married in a month at a resort in Phuket, Thailand. Once she convinces her mother that she's sure, Lana insists that she's happy for her. Discovery is footing the bill, in exchange for publicity for the resort.

Arriving in Thailand are Lana's best friend Janice, as well as their friends from Stanford, Scott and Clay, who've recently married. Lana soon discovers that RJ is the son of Will Jackson, Scott's brother and her ex-boyfriend also from Stanford.

Lana goes to Will's room to clear the air, inadvertently seeing him naked. Mortified, she leaves hurriedly. Soon after arriving to dinner, Lana goes to 'freshen up', and Emma follows. In the bathroom, she explains that Will ghosted her after graduation. Devastated, Lana changed her number and moved so he couldn't hurt her again. A geneticist, she fears RJ will do the same to Emma.

Back at the table, Lana and Will agree to be maid-of-honor and best man, then RJ thanks Lana for her gift of a cappuccino maker. Will gifts them his condo in Tribeca. Lana later confides to Janice that she fears she can't compete with him.

Discovery brand manager Camala doesn't want Lana's input for most of the wedding planning, as they are pushing certain brands and designers. Lana meets with Janice to vent, then they meet up with their Stanford crew for pickle ball. Playing mixed doubles, Lana and Will shoulder out Janice and Scott. The game ends abruptly when she launches the ball into his privates.

LA doctor Lucas Campion is in awe of Lana, so asks her out for drinks. She meets him, but doesn't stay for very long. The next day, Camala shows Lana the flamboyant, black designer dress she is to wear in the wedding. She reluctantly agrees to it, feeling the brand manager is taking away the joy of the wedding by imposing plans to make it into an event.

As Lana isn't included in that day's wedding plan, she and the Stanford group head out to a secluded island and go skinny dipping. As it's prohibited on hotel property, they get reprimanded. Camala threatens to pull funding for the wedding, so Emma accuses Lana of intentionally undermining the wedding. Emma asks her to leave.

Will overhears, so takes Lana on a ride to cheer her up. The jeep they take to the remote spot fails to start for their return, so they head down to the nearest beach to flag down a boat. There, they finally talk about their past and make peace.

As Emma regrets scolding Lana, RJ suggests she apologize. Realizing Will and Lana are missing, a resort employee goes to fetch them via boat. They are disrupted just before they can kiss. On their return to the hotel, Lucas sees Will and Lana looking cozy together. So, he asks her to call if things don't work out with Will. At the rehearsal dinner, Lana overhears Will on the phone to a Katrina, saying he cannot live without her. Feeling déjà vu, she immediately distances herself from him.

Emma feels there is something off about her mother, so goes to her room. They talk, and she falls asleep there. The next day, although Lana becomes overwhelmed and cries, the wedding ceremony runs smoothly. When Emma throws the bouquet, Lana dodges it but Will catches it for her.

Confronting Lana, Will demands to know why she's been ignoring him. She asks him about Katrina and he reveals that she is his secretary, who's brought the ring he'd bought for Lana many years ago. Will proposes and, after a moment's hesitation, she accepts.
